Team India unveiled a striking new ODI jersey on Friday at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. The event was attended by BCCI secretary Jay Shah and women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The redesigned jersey features a lighter blue shade, replacing the previous shirt pattern.

It now includes white stripes transitioning into a tri-color gradient on the shoulders, with darker blue accents around the armpits and sleeve ends. You can watch the video here:

The new jersey will debut during the Indian men’s team’s Champions Trophy campaign next year and the 2025 Women’s World Cup, which India is set to host.

“It’s a privilege”- Harmanpreet Kaur

At the event, Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her pride in unveiling the new jersey and hoped it would resonate with the fans as much as it does with her. She mentioned that her team would debut the jersey in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies starting December 22.

This means the upcoming three-ODI series against Australia, beginning December 5, could mark the final appearance of the old kit.

“It’s an honor to unveil the jersey today and I am really happy that we are the first one who are going to wear it against the West Indies team,” Harmanpreet was quoted as saying in the BCCI video.

“I really like the look. The tricolor on the shoulder looks really beautiful and [I am] really happy that, you know, we’ve got a special ODI jersey.”

“Wearing the jersey is always a special feeling in itself. There’s a lot of hard work that goes behind it and a lot of thought has been put in too. Hopefully, the Indian fans will also accept it and feel proud by wearing it,” she added.

The men’s team, currently engaged in the Border-Gavaskar Test series, is likely to debut the new jersey during their February series against England.
