[WATCH] India vs Pakistan U19 Final Turns Fiery as Ayush Mhatre And Ali Raza Involved In Arguement

Tensions ran high during the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 as India and Pakistan clashed in a fiercely contested encounter on Sunday. The high-stakes match, held at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai, saw Pakistan dominate proceedings to secure a comprehensive 191-run victory and lift their second title in the tournament’s history. Amid the one-sided result, emotions spilt over on the field, with a heated verbal exchange involving India Under-19 captain Ayush Mhatre and Pakistan pacer Ali Raza, a moment that has since gone viral on social media.

Viral Spat Between Mhatre And Ali Raza

The flashpoint occurred early in India’s daunting chase of 348 runs, on the second ball of the third over. Ali Raza delivered a fuller ball outside the off-stump, tempting Ayush Mhatre into an ambitious stroke over mid-off. The Indian skipper failed to clear the fielder Farhan Yousaf, resulting in a crucial early dismissal.

Raza celebrated the wicket with visible aggression, which appeared to trigger a reaction from Mhatre as he walked back to the pavilion. Words were exchanged, gestures followed, and the brief verbal war quickly caught the attention of fans online. Clips of the incident spread rapidly, adding another chapter to the intense rivalry that often characterises India–Pakistan contests at any level.

Pakistan’s Dominance And India’s Reflection

Beyond the confrontation, the match itself was a showcase of Pakistan’s superiority on the day. Their imposing total of 347 for eight was built around a sensational knock from Sameer Minhas, who smashed 172 off just 113 balls, putting India under immense pressure. In response, India’s batting line-up struggled against the sustained pace and bounce generated by Pakistan’s bowlers. The pace trio of Ali Raza, Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan consistently hit hard lengths, dismantling the Indian top order as the team was bowled out for 156 in 26.2 overs.

After the defeat, Mhatre reflected on his side’s campaign, saying, “We were clear to bowl first; there were some inconsistencies in the line of the bowling. It was a simple plan to play the 50 overs. The boys really played well, and the tournament was good for us, and some players stood up.” Despite the disappointment of the final, he maintained that India’s overall tournament performance had positives to take forward, even as Pakistan celebrated a commanding triumph without the customary post-match formalities between the two sides.
