[WATCH]- Indian Fan Ejected For Displaying Sandpaper In BGT 2024-25 2nd Test

The second Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test in Adelaide between Australia and India was heated, highlighted by a confrontation between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head. While on-field battles added excitement to the Adelaide Test, an unfortunate incident unfolded in the stands.

A video circulating online shows an Indian fan holding up a piece of sandpaper. This act led to security forcibly removing him from the ground. Even as he was escorted out, the fan continued displaying the sandpaper to the Australian crowd, drawing applause and waves from some home spectators. You can watch the video here:

In the second BGT 2024-25 Test, India faced a 10-wicket defeat in Adelaide after their impressive opening win in Perth. With the series now level at 1-1, the third Test will take place in Brisbane.

The sandpaper shown by the Indian fan at the Adelaide Oval refers to Australia’s 2018 ball-tampering scandal

The sandpaper displayed by the Indian fan at the Adelaide Oval brought attention to a shameful episode in Australian cricket history. In 2018, during the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town, Australian cricketer Cameron Bancroft was caught using sandpaper to alter the condition of the ball, an act of ball tampering.

Following this, investigations revealed that senior players Steve Smith and David Warner were also involved in orchestrating the plan. As a consequence, Cricket Australia handed lengthy bans to all three players, making the incident one of the most controversial and memorable scandals in the history of the sport.

India was defeated in the Pink Ball Test

India suffered a heavy 10-wicket loss to Australia in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide Oval. A dramatic collapse in their first innings, combined with a poor bowling performance, allowed Australia to take a commanding 157-run lead.

The series is now tied 1-1, with the next match scheduled for Brisbane on December 14.
