On Day 4 of the fifth Test at The Oval, Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal attempted to unsettle England opener Ben Duckett with a series of verbal exchanges from close-in. Duckett, a left-handed batter, appeared composed as he resumed from his overnight score, despite a challenging opening spell from the Indian pace attack.
Mohammed Siraj delivered a testing maiden early in the day, with Duckett missing the ball multiple times and narrowly escaping the outside edge. Given the high stakes of the match, with the series outcome potentially on the line, the Indian fielders remained highly vocal and animated.
They continuously encouraged their bowlers while also directing frequent remarks toward the English batters. Both Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope had to contend with this persistent on-field chatter. On one occasion, Jaiswal was seen urging Duckett to take on the bowlers, seemingly attempting to provoke a loose shot.
“This is not your game, man. Show some shots. I want to see your reverse sweep. Why you are defending? There’s no point,” Jaiswal’s comments were caught on the stump mic (via Star Sports).
“Later,” the England bater calmly replied.

Ben Duckett Falls For 54 In Second Innings
England opener notched up his third half-century of the series in the first session on Day 5 but fell shortly after, as a bowling change paid off for India. Prasidh Krishna got Duckett to edge one to second slip, where KL Rahul took a sharp catch in the 23rd over.
India struck again when Mohammed Siraj trapped Ollie Pope LBW in the 28th over. However, Harry Brook launched a counter-attack to steady England’s innings. At the time of reporting, England stand at 164/3, still needing 210 runs before the second session begins.
