Watch: India’s Fun Practice Session Ahead Of The First ODI Against England

India Women

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has begun its preparations ahead of the Limited overs series against England, starting with the first WODI in Bristol on June 27. The area of focus in the practice session was India’s fielding.

Abhay Sharma, fielding coach of the Indian Women’s Team decided to work on the intensity and target-hitting.

“TODAY WE THOUGHT ABOUT FOCUSING ON TARGET-HITTING AND CREATING INTENSITY WHEN WE ARE PREPARING FOR THE BIGGER TOURNAMENT. SO THIS IS A STEPPING STONE FOR THAT.” – India’s Fielding Coach

During the session, the Indian players were divided into two teams to create a competition-like environment. To make the session more fun, the teams decided that the team that loses will have to pay 20 pounds to the winners, in addition to 20 pounds from the fielding coach Abhay Sharma. The primary fielding aspects in the competition were target-hitting and catching.

At the end of the session, both the teams were tied at 10 points, which led to a tie-breaker between both the teams. Funnily, both the teams managed to hit the stumps in the tie-breaker.

The Twitter handle of BCCI Women posted highlights of India’s fielding session.
