[WATCH]- Injured Rishabh Pant Spotted Practicing In Nets On Day 2 Of 3rd Test vs England

India’s vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was spotted undergoing throwdown sessions in the nets despite dealing with a finger injury. This took place on Day 2 (Friday, July 11) of the third Test of the ongoing five-match series against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

The 27-year-old cricketer sustained the injury to his left index finger during the second session of Day 1 while performing his wicketkeeping duties. The incident occurred on the very first delivery of the 34th over in England’s first innings, bowled by India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.

Though he was clearly in some discomfort, Pant managed to complete the over before handing over the gloves to Dhruv Jurel. Ahead of Day 2, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official update, stating that Pant had not yet fully recovered. The medical staff continues to assess his condition and is keeping a close watch on his recovery.

Uncertainty remained over Rishabh Pant’s involvement in the rest of the match, but he was seen training at the Lord’s Nursery Ground on Friday. According to reports, he spent around 15 minutes facing throwdowns before stopping to interact with fans, taking selfies and signing autographs on his way back. You can watch the video here:

England resumed Day 2 at 251/4, with Root on 99 and Stokes on 39. Root reached his century with a first-ball boundary, but Bumrah struck early, removing Stokes for 44. He then dismissed Root for 104 and Woakes for a golden duck in successive deliveries, leaving England at 271/7.

Jamie Smith, dropped early by KL Rahul, built an 84-run partnership with Brydon Carse. Smith made a brisk 51 off 56 balls, while Carse added a steady 56 off 83 deliveries. Bumrah spearheaded the Indian bowling attack, claiming five wickets as England were eventually dismissed for 387 in 112.3 overs.
