Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan displayed strong excitement after removing Pakistan captain Younis Khan during the World Championship of Legends (WCL) final on July 13, Saturday. Pakistan Champions secured the toss and chose to bat first in the final took place at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

During the 12th over of Pakistan Champions’ innings, on the third ball, Younis Khan was dismissed by a straight delivery from Irfan. Trying to hit across the line, the right-arm batter failed to connect, and the ball smashed directly into the stumps.

Irfan celebrated with a passionate roar upon taking this crucial wicket. Younis Khan, who had scored 7 runs off 11 balls, departed with Pakistan at 79/4 after 11.3 overs.

 

As of now, the Pakistan Champions concluded their innings at 156/6 within their allocated 20 overs. Shoaib Malik led the scoring for the Men in Green with 41 runs off 36 deliveries. Anureet Singh emerged as the standout bowler for the India Champions, taking three crucial wickets (Sharjeel Khan, Malik, and Aamer Yamin) while conceding 43 runs in his four-over spell.

Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan delivered an economical performance, giving away just 12 runs in three overs and dismissing the opposition’s captain.

The Indian Champions encountered the Australian Champions in the second semi-final of the World Championship of Legends on July 12, Friday. Robin Uthappa performed a crucial innings of 65 runs in 35 balls to provide the Men in Blue a powerful start. After him, Yuvraj Singh displayed his classic form by scoring 59 runs within 28 balls.

In the latter part of the innings, the Pathan brothers took center stage. Irfan Pathan was in exceptional form, smashing 50 runs off just 19 balls before being dismissed by Peter Siddle. Meanwhile, his elder brother Yusuf remained unbeaten with 51 runs off 23 balls, helping the India Champions post a commanding total of 254 runs.

In response, the Australian Champions strived during their innings and failed to reach the target. Tim Paine high-scored with 40 and not out, but it wasn’t sufficient as the Men in Yellow was defeated the match by 86 runs. Dhawal Kulkarni and Pawan Negi both took two wickets each for the India Champions.
