[WATCH] Ishan Kishan And Arshdeep Singh Share A Light Moment With Tilak Varma After IND vs SA Warm-Up

Team India batter Tilak Varma appeared visibly irritated by the mischief of Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan inside the dressing room after India’s T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match against South Africa on Wednesday in Mumbai.

In a video doing the rounds on social media, Tilak was seen giving a stern look as Arshdeep attempted to record a reel with him and Kishan. On the field, the left-handed opener produced a fluent knock of 45 off just 19 balls, firmly strengthening his case ahead of India’s T20 World Cup 2026 opener against the USA on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.

Batting at No. 3, Tilak Varma also made a valuable contribution, striking three fours and three sixes as India posted an imposing total of 240/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Here is the video from the dressing room that has been shared on social media:

Tilak missed India’s last T20I series against New Zealand because of an abdominal injury that required surgery. However, his return to full fitness is a big boost for the team, who are strong favourites to win the title.

Ishan Kishan Set To Open For India In T20 World Cup 2026 Opener

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan emerged as India’s top scorer in the practice match against South Africa, blasting 53 off just 20 balls, highlighted by seven massive sixes. The left-hander, who had batted at No. 3 during his comeback series against New Zealand, appears set for a promotion to the top after Sanju Samson’s run of poor form.

Kishan’s explosive knock has all but sealed his place as Abhishek Sharma’s opening partner for the 20-team tournament. India piled up 240 before restricting the Proteas to 210 to clinch a convincing 30-run win.

Abhishek picked up two wickets, while Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel chipped in with one each. The Men in Blue are the defending champions, having defeated South Africa in the 2024 final to lift their second T20 World Cup crown.
