Jasprit Bumrah notched up another bowling achievement on Day 2 of the Perth Test, where he got rid of Australia’s Alex Carey with the first ball of the Indian’s over to reach his 11th Test five-wicket haul. This outstanding has placed Bumrah on the same pedestal as Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan, Indian bowlers who have taken 11 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

Looking at the numbers, Bumrah earned all the praise, proving his critical skills, accuracy, steadiness, and performance during the pressure. This success has enhanced his status as one of the top fastest bowlers in India, more so considering that the Indian team had a great bowling line-up. Bumrah has bowled 11 times five-wicket hauls in the Test cricket being a result of hard work, dedication, and commitment towards the game.

Jasprit Bumrah dismisses Alex Carey:

Jasprit Bumrah came up with a brilliant performance on day 2 of the CA Perth Test to send back Australia’s wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey in his first over. Bumrah settled into the attack early, operating around the wicket, to deliver a shortened ball on the fourth stump line to Carey. It then pulled away after pitching, brushing the outer part of the Carey’s bat when he prodded at it.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant did not falter whatsoever to take the chance and get rid of Carey easily. Australia was struggling to start building up on their score when Bumrah dealt them the biggest blow of the match. That wicket clearly showed how effective Bumrah can be and he will have to play the key role in this match for India.

Jasprit Bumrah, meanwhile, has taken five wickets in an Australian Test match for the second time. In the Boxing Day Test of the 2018–2019 tour at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), he recorded his first-ever Test five-for in Australia.
