[WATCH] “Jassi Bhai Se Daant Padegi” – Arshdeep Singh And Axar Patel’s Banter That Stole The Spotlight

Team India’s dressing room atmosphere remains cheerful ahead of their Group A fixture against Namibia in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. A light-hearted exchange between Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh recently grabbed attention and delighted fans. The two cricketers were inside the team hotel lift when Arshdeep recorded a playful video. In the clip, he teased Axar by suggesting that Jasprit Bumrah might scold him.

Arshdeep jokingly said, “Paaji, Jassi bhai se daant padegi aapko.” (Brother, you will get a scolding from Jassi bhai). Axar quickly responded with humor, revealing that Bumrah had already sent him a message about picking up habits from younger teammates. He replied, “Tabhi aapko message kiya na. Woh keh rahe the baccho se kya sikh rahe ho.” (That’s why I messaged you.

He was telling me what I was learning from the kids.) The friendly banter reflected the strong bonding within the squad. Despite the intense pressure of a global tournament, the players appear relaxed and united, which is often a sign of a confident team. Arshdeep has particularly been active on social media, sharing fun behind-the-scenes moments that have entertained supporters throughout the competition.

India Begin Campaign With Commanding Win

On the cricketing front, India started their T20 World Cup journey with a solid 29-run victory over the United States of America at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match did not begin smoothly for the hosts, as early wickets put them under pressure. However, captain Suryakumar Yadav played a captain’s knock to rescue the innings. His unbeaten 84 off 49 deliveries helped India recover and post a competitive total of 161 for 9 in 20 overs.

His aggressive yet controlled batting shifted the momentum in India’s favor. When it was time to defend the total, the Indian bowlers executed their plans effectively. The USA batting line-up struggled to accelerate and eventually finished at 132 for 8. Mohammed Siraj led the bowling attack with three important wickets, while Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh contributed with two wickets each. The comprehensive performance ensured a confident start for the Men in Blue.

Bumrah Returns To Training Ahead Of Crucial Matches

India received further good news as Jasprit Bumrah resumed training after missing the opening match due to illness. The fast bowler participated in practice sessions on February 10 and 11, raising hopes of his return for the upcoming clash against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on February 12. His availability would significantly strengthen India’s bowling attack. Following the Namibia match, India are scheduled to face arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo, making squad fitness and preparation even more crucial at this stage of the tournament.
