England’s Test captain Joe Root was seen trying to pick Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon’s brains ahead of day 2 of the fourth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It seems Lyon’s tips have come in handy for the English captain, who picked up the wicket of Alex Carey during Australia’s first innings.
Meanwhile, the game has transformed a lot and the attitude of players towards their opponents have improved a lot. The temperatures don’t flare that much nowadays even in a high-profile series like the Ashes.
Keeping up with the attitude, Joe Root was seen having an intense discussion with Nathan Lyon, one of the best spinners in the business, about the knits and grits of off-spin bowling. Lyon was seen helping Root with different grips of off-spin bowling.

Returning to the Sydney Cricket Ground where he made his Test debut, Usman Khawaja made an emphatic century to help Australia finish on top on the second day of the fourth Test.
Thanks to Usman Khawaja’s 260-ball 137, the hosts declared at 416/8, with England finishing the day unscathed at 13/0 when stumps were called. The southpaw decided to grind in and engineered a 67-run crucial 8th wicket stand with Starc, having notched up his 9th Test ton while at it. Australia’s 8, 9 and 10 once again chipped in with handy contributions and that allowed them to have a sniff at the English openers before the close of the day’s play.
