[WATCH] Josh Tongue Dismisses Ravindra Jadeja With A Stunner

India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for 11 on Day 2 of the opening Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, on Saturday, June 21, after dragging the ball onto his stumps. His wicket marked the fall of the last recognized batter, triggering a dramatic collapse in which India lost their final seven wickets for just 51 runs.

Despite the setback, the visitors had earlier added 112 runs to their overnight total, having resumed the day at 359/3. Jadeja’s dismissal occurred in the 113th over, shortly after the tea interval. England pacer Josh Tongue bowled a back-of-a-length delivery that jagged in sharply.

Attempting a late cut, Ravindra Jadeja edged the ball onto his stumps via a thick inside edge. The wicket was Tongue’s third of the innings, and he went on to finish with notable figures of 4 for 86. You can watch the video here:

Centuries from Jaiswal, Gill, and Pant Power India to 471 in First Innings

Skipper Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and Yashasvi Jaiswal struck centuries to propel India to a first-innings total of 471 on Day 2 of the opening Test against England. Gill led the scoring with a composed 147 off 227 balls, featuring 19 fours and a six, while Pant entertained with a fluent 134 from 178 deliveries, which included six sixes and 12 fours.

The pair put together a crucial 209-run stand for the fourth wicket. Earlier on Day 1, Jaiswal laid the foundation with a well-crafted 101 off 159 balls, hitting 16 boundaries and a six. He also shared a 91-run opening partnership with KL Rahul, who made 42 from 78 balls.
