[WATCH] Kagiso Rabada Sends Reeza Hendricks’ Off Stump For A Walk

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada, South Africa’s star pacer and one of the world’s most sought-after talents, made an immediate impact for MI Cape Town in the seventh match of the SA20 2023. In his first over of the tournament, the speedster dispatched Reeza Hendricks. Hendricks had no answer for Rabada’s delivery, which appeared to be aimed at knocking over his off stump.

MI. Cape Town had suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Durban Super Giants in their previous match. In an attempt to turn things around, the team’s management made a risky move by inserting Kagiso Rabada into the starting lineup in place of English pace sensation Jofra Archer.

Here is the video:

Rabada, who missed his side’s first two SA20 matches, made an immediate impact for his side. Rashid Khan, the captain, gave him the ball in the fourth over of the game. Rabada made a mess of Reeza Hendricks’ stumps on only his fourth delivery of the tournament, sending Hendricks’ off the pole for a walk, which delighted the Afghan superstar. Following his blistering delivery to dismiss his compatriot, the Proteas bowler broke into his trademark aeroplane celebration.

With that wicket, the mercurial pacer, who recently appeared in the Test series against Australia, opened the floodgates for his side, as the Joburg Super Kings were reeling at 41-4 after losing skipper Faf du Plessis to another peach. On his first appearance in the newly introduced franchise league, Rabada finished with exceptional bowling figures of 2/12 in four overs.

Joburg were forced to bat first by the hosts at Newlands and were bundled out for 105 runs in less than 18 overs. In response, openers Brevis and Ryan Rickelton put on a 65-run stand before Gerald Coetzee bowled the latter was bowled by Gerald Coetzee.  MI Cape Town won the match with 7 wickets to spare and 16.4 overs.
