Pakistan‘s rising batting star, Kamran Ghulam, was seen signing the honors board at Multan Cricket Stadium after his impressive performance on Day 1 of the second Test against England, with a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on X.
At 29, Ghulam, who has accumulated 4,000 first-class runs, made his Test debut in Multan and excelled under pressure. Batting at No. 4, he scored a resilient century, stabilizing Pakistan’s innings on a challenging pitch.

After the early loss of Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood, Ghulam partnered with Saim Ayub, and together they built a century partnership, leaving Pakistan at 259-5 by day’s end. Ghulam was eventually out for 118 off off-spinner Shoaib Bashir. With Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha at the crease, Pakistan aims to surpass the 350-run mark.

The all-rounder shared that he remained determined despite missing his international debut several times after coming close. With Pakistan losing two early wickets, he approached the situation with a positive mindset, just like in first-class cricket. Ghulam stated (via Cricinfo):
“I’d been waiting for my chance a long time but I never gave up. I had been waiting for my chance. That’s all I thought about. I kept being selected and then omitted from squads, and all I used to think about was how to take the chance I’d been given.”
“When I came to the wicket we’d lost two wickets. But I wanted to play with a positive mind like I do in first-class cricket. That was at the back of my mind, and I wanted to play my natural game.”
The hosts are behind 1-0 in the series after losing the first Test by an innings and 47 runs, and they will be eager to equalize.
