Watch – “Keep Your Mouth Shut” – Rishabh Pant And Rassie Van Der Dussen Argue About The Controversial Catch

Team India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was seen engaging in a verbal duel with South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen when the former came out to bat on day 3 of the Johannesburg Test. The Proteas batter seemed to vent his aggression over his controversial dismissal n the 1st Test innings.

Incidentally, Dussen had been dismissed during the Proteas first innings caught behind by Rishabh Pant off the bowling of Shardul Thakur at the stroke of the tea interval. The on-field umpire ruled him out. However, at the tea interval, replays emerged which suggested that the ball might have bounced in front of Pant before landing in his gloves.

Multiple replays from different angles showed contradicting results. The front replay suggested that the ball might have bounced in front of Pant before landing in his gloves. The side on replays showed that the catch was clean. South African captain Dean Elgar and the manager also met with the match officials.

While it was thought that the issue was buried under the ground, it re-emerged when Rishabh Pant came out to bat. Rassie van der Dussen poked fun at the Indian batsman arguing about the dismissal. However, Rishabh Pant in a no-nonsense move urged the Proteas cricketers to shut his mouth.

“If you have half knowledge, then keep your mouth shut,” Rishabh Pant was caught saying on the stump-mic.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant couldn’t shine with the bat as he got out on a third-ball duck. However, Hanuma Vihari toiled hard playing a gritty 40-run knock to set a 240-run target.

South Africa have made a great start with captain Dean Elgar leading the ship for his side alongside Keegan Petersen, who scored a fine half-century in the first innings.
