Watch – KL Rahul Runs Himself Out After Miscommunication With Suryakumar Yadav

KL Rahul

KL Rahul ran himself out after a miscommunication with Suryakumar Yadav one short of a half-century in the 2nd ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, India managed to post runs in their 50 overs after being asked to bat first.

India had the worst possible after being reduced to 43/3 in 12 overs with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli back in the hut. Rishabh Pant was promoted to the top-order alongside Rohit Sharma, a move that didn’t reap dividends.

Under the pump, the home side banked on a 91-run stand from KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav to revive. While the pacers continued to ask difficult questions, Rahul and Suryakumar targetted the spinner and were well-aided by a couple of poor fielding by the visiting side.

Just when things were looking bright for India, KL Rahul departed thanks to a run out after a miscommunication with Suryakumar Yadav. It was a fuller than a good length and Rahul drives on the rise square of the wicket.

He called for two and started going and Suryakumar responded as well but for some reason, Rahul stopped halfway down and then started to go again. That pause was enough to catch him short of the crease as Akeal Hosein threw right next to the stumps before Shai Hope does the rest.

KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav did the resurrection act well but the final hurrah never came as India kept losing wickets till the very end, including that of well-set Suryakumar Yadav.

Deepak Hooda did come up with a little cameo but that didn’t really trouble the scorers much as West Indies managed to restrict India for 237 runs.
