India opener KL Rahul unleashed a stunning six off Khary Pierre on Day 1 of the second Test against the West Indies at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday, November 10. The right-handed batsman advanced down the pitch and struck the ball cleanly, sending it soaring into the stands.
The massive six came off a good-length delivery just outside off-stump from Pierre in the 17th over of India’s first innings. Rahul charged down the track and lofted it over wide long-on for six runs. Interestingly, Rahul is no stranger to this ground, having played several matches here for Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2025. KL Rahul Falls As India Lose First Wicket Against West Indies In 2nd Test
KL Rahul looked composed at the crease, scoring 38 runs off 54 balls, including a six and five boundaries. He was eventually stumped by wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach off Jomel Warrican’s delivery, which turned sharply after pitching, leaving Rahul struggling with the turn on Day 1.
During his innings, the 33-year-old put together a 58-run opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Missing out on another big score would be disappointing for Rahul, who has already notched up three Test centuries this year, including a hundred in the series opener against the West Indies.
At the time of writing, India were 63/1 after 19 overs, with Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan at the crease. Team India will now aim to post a commanding total and bowl out the West Indies twice to secure a 2-0 series win. Led by Shubman Gill, India had already beaten the visitors by an innings and 140 runs in the first Test in Ahmedabad.
The Men in Blue have not lost a Test against the West Indies since 2002. A victory here would also mark India’s first home series triumph since they were whitewashed 0-3 by New Zealand last year.
