Star India batter KL Rahul experienced an injury scare ahead of the fourth Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test in Melbourne, set to begin on Thursday, December 26. While batting in the nets, Rahul was struck on the fingers, raising concerns about a potential injury. However, it is still uncertain whether the injury is serious.

The Indian team management remains hopeful that Rahul’s condition is not severe and that he will be fit for the crucial Melbourne Test. A video of the Indian batter being treated by the team physio after the blow to his right hand fingers has been circulating on social media.

KL Rahul does not seem to be in significant pain while receiving treatment from the physio, and the injury appears less concerning based on the visuals circulating online.

KL Rahul has been India’s standout batter in the ongoing BGT 2024-25 series

Although his finger injury may not be severe, India will hope that KL Rahul is fit for the fourth Test in Melbourne. After facing heavy criticism during the home Test series against New Zealand, Rahul has made a strong comeback in Australia, emerging as the team’s top batter so far.

He has scored 235 runs in six innings across three Tests, averaging 47 with two half-centuries. Rahul is also the second-highest run-scorer in the series, trailing only Travis Head, who leads with 409 runs.

Rahul has shown resilience, determination, and dedication in his batting, scoring crucial runs in challenging situations while other Indian batters have struggled. In the drawn third Test at The Gabba, he played a vital role, scoring 84 off 139 balls in India’s first innings.

The fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 26, 2024, in Melbourne.
