Team India cricketer KL Rahul had a brilliant day on the field at the Adelaide Oval against Bangladesh on Wednesday, November 2 in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Following his fine knock in the first innings, he also pulled off a brilliant run-out to dismiss Bangladesh opener Liton Das, who was going strong at that moment. His run-out pulled things back for India in the match.
Chasing 185 runs, Liton Das opened the innings with Najmul Hossain Shanto. He started off positively, taking on the Indian bowling attack. Das slammed Arshdeep Singh for three boundaries in the second over of the innings. He kept the scoreboard running for Bangladesh and took them to 66 runs in seven overs, with no loss. However, rain played spoilsport, interrupting the play.
As the play resumed, the chase was reduced to 16 overs, with Bangladesh needing 85 runs in nine overs. In the very first over after the break, Bangladesh was dealt with a mighty blow, with Liton Das getting run out. Najmul Hossain Shanto flicked a delivery off Ravichandran Ashwin toward deep mid-wicket. He set off for the second run, but Das was slow to get there. Even a full-length dive couldn’t save him, as KL Rahul’s stunning direct hit rattled the stumps. Das managed 60 runs off 27 deliveries, including seven boundaries and three sixes.
