[WATCH] Krunal Pandya Compares Ishan Kishan’s Hitting Style To AB de Villiers’ 360-Degree Batting

During an impressive net session, Ishan Kishan amazed Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran. The left-handed batsman prepared for MI’s forthcoming IPL 2024 game on April 30 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

As Kishan batted in the nets, Krunal and Pooran observed his lavish shots. Witnessing a powerful shot down the ground, Pooran exclaimed, “My goodness.”

Praising Kishan for batting, Krunal said, “That’s some strong wrists man.” Thereafter, Krunal compared the 25-year-old Kishan with the legendary AB de Villiers.

Pooran joined in and said, “When you are hitting the ball over the top, what are you thinking?” Kishan turned back and replied, “Just hitting”.

Replying to Kishan, Pooran said, “Really? I have to do the same. We are amazed by the youngster’s skills.”

What has Ishan Kishan’s performance been like in IPL 2024?

During a pre-match net session ahead of the game against KL Rahul’s Lucknow on Tuesday, Ishan Kishan, the left-handed batsman, appeared to be in excellent form.

Kishan has been decent for the MI squad in this season’s T20 tournament. Across 9 matches, the left-hander has amassed 212 runs with an average of 23.55 and a strike-rate of 165.62. His highest score of 69 was against Faf du Plessis’ RCB on April 11 at Mumbai’s renowned Wankhede Stadium.

For MI to secure a spot in the playoffs, they require Kishan to perform exceptionally well. Currently positioned ninth in the table with 6 points and a net run rate of -0.261, Mumbai has only won 3 out of 9 matches.

Following a loss to Rishabh Pant’s DC in their last game, Mumbai is eager to rack up some victories. Kishan has been integral to MI since his transfer from the now-disbanded Gujarat Lions in IPL 2018.
