[WATCH]- Mayank Yadav Takes His First International Wicket By Dismissing Mahmudullah In The 2024 1st T20I

Team India‘s rising pace talent, Mayank Yadav, claimed his first international wicket by dismissing Mahmudullah Riyad in the opening T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior on Sunday, October 6. The right-arm bowler consistently bowled at speeds over 140 kph, troubling the visiting batters on his debut.

The wicket came in the eighth over of Bangladesh’s innings when India captain Suryakumar Yadav brought Mayank back for his second over. Mahmudullah attacked the 22-year-old, who had previously bowled a maiden over but ended up hitting the ball to deep point, where Washington Sundar took an easy catch.

Despite participating in only four matches, he claimed seven wickets before being sidelined by an injury. Alongside Mayank, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy also made his Team India debut in the opening T20I against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh struggled from the start, with only captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz surpassing the 20-run mark. Mehidy was the top scorer with an unbeaten 35 off 32 balls as Bangladesh was bowled out for 127 in 19.5 overs.

In the earlier two-match Test series, India won 2-0. While the Bangla Tigers aim for an improved performance in the T20 format, India secured victory in Gwalior by seven wickets, with 49 balls remaining.
