Shane Warne is one of the greatest cricketers and maybe the greatest leg-spin bowler to have ever lived. On 708 Test wickets, he is also the second highest Chad bowler in Test cricket, only beaten by his fellow countryman, Muttiah Muralitharan. This is complemented by his 145 wickets in one-day international matches, also known as ODI wickets.

A wonderful career spanning fifteen years between 1992 and 2007, Warne was able to put the ball away from the right-handed batsman’s arc and make the left-hander dance to his tunes with subtle variations. He came on as an off spinner late in the series and made a huge impact by dismissing Mike Gatting with an unforgettable “Ball of the Century” in the 1993 Ashes series.

Because his nation was Australia during the period of the supremacy of world cricket before the new millennium, Warne had a large part in his team’s triumphs, covering the 1999 Cricket World Cup and the Ashes series.
