[WATCH]- Mitchell Marsh’s Stunning Catch Dismisses Shubman Gill Cheaply In BGT 3rd Test

Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh pulled off a spectacular catch on Day 3 of the third Test against India in Brisbane to dismiss Shubman Gill. The West Australian took an incredible overhead grab as the home side celebrated their second breakthrough of the morning.

The dismissal occurred in the second over of India’s first innings when Gill fell into the trap, driving Mitchell Starc on the rise. Marsh, positioned at gully, snatched the ball out of thin air, sending the right-hander back for 1 off three balls.

It was also the second wicket for the left-arm pacer, who had earlier dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on the second ball of the innings, caught by Marsh at forward square leg. You can watch the video here:

In doing so, the New South Welshman dismissed Jaiswal and Gill for the second time in his career. Australia also removed Virat Kohli, with Josh Hazlewood claiming his wicket just before lunch.

Mitchell Marsh failed to reach double digits for the second straight innings in Brisbane Test

The all-rounder played his part with two catches on Day 3 in Brisbane but struggled with the bat. After scoring nine in Adelaide, he fell for just five in Brisbane, becoming one of Jasprit Bumrah’s six victims, edging to Virat Kohli at slip.

However, his failure had little impact as Australia posted an impressive first-innings total of 445. After Rohit Sharma put Australia in to bat on Day 1, only 13.2 overs were possible due to persistent rain.

On Day 2, despite losing three early wickets in the morning session, Australia recovered through a massive 241-run stand between Steve Smith and Travis Head, both scoring centuries. Alex Carey added a crucial 70 later on to solidify their dominant position.
