Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz was caught off guard as India captain Suryakumar Yadav ran him out with a brilliant direct hit during the Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai on Sunday, September 21. The left-hander failed to ground his bat while attempting a second run at the non-striker’s end, resulting in his dismissal for 21 off 19 balls, leaving Pakistan at 149/5.
The run-out occurred in the 19th over. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a full toss, and Pakistan skipper Salman Agha attempted a swipe but mistimed it straight to the fielder at backward square. Nawaz appeared relaxed while placing his bat inside the crease, giving Yadav enough time to collect the ball and execute a direct hit. The subsequent review confirmed the run-out, working in India’s favour.

India Hold Pakistan To 171 In Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 Clash
A brilliant bowling performance saw India restrict Pakistan to 171/5 in their 20 overs during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash. Shivam Dube was the standout, claiming 2/33 in his four overs, while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav picked up one wicket each. Varun Chakaravarthy, though wicketless, bowled economically, giving away just 25 runs in four overs and keeping the Pakistani batters in check.
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 58 off 45 balls, while Saim Ayub, Mohammad Nawaz, and Faheem Ashraf contributed useful cameos in the 20s. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will aim to maintain their unbeaten run after wins over UAE, Pakistan, and Oman in the group stages.
Historically, India has consistently dominated Pakistan in T20Is, winning 10 of the 14 encounters, including one tie. The Men in Blue have also remained unbeaten against Pakistan in their last three T20I meetings, including high-profile clashes in the 2022 and 2024 T20 World Cups.
