West Indies defeated Pakistan by one wicket in a thrilling encounter at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. During the course of the match, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan’s terrific catch stole everyone’s attention.

The match was heading into a thrilling finish with West Indies needing 17 runs with just two wickets in hand. In the fifty-third over, Hasan Ali bowled a short pitch delivery to Jomel Warrican, who tried to hook the ball, but instead got a top-edge. Four fielders ran in to catch, including wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan who sprinted back and completed a spectacular diving catch to dismiss Warrican.

Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales partnership leads West Indies to a thrilling victory

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi made early inroads in the West Indies line-up picking three wickets early in the innings. Chasing 167 runs in the fourth innings, West Indies was reeling at 16 with their top three batters back in the pavilion.

Roston Chase and Jermaine Blackwood got together to steady the batting line-up. However, Faheem Ashraf broke their stand, which led to a batting collapse for West Indies. They were 151/9, needing 17 more runs to go one up in the series. Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales dramatic last-wicket stand took West Indies took a thrilling one-wicket win.

Jayden Seales was awarded the Player of the Match for his eight wickets in the match, including a five-wicket haul in the second innings.

“Words can’t describe how I feel after the five-wicket haul, I’m just thankful to the almighty. Test cricket has been a dream and getting five today, it really goes to the bowling coach who backed me to be successful at this level.,” said Jayden Seales at the post-match presentation.
