Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler Mohammed Shami congratulated former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli after the latter registered the first half-century of IPL 2022. After a couple of below-par outings, Kohli scored 58 runs off 53 balls.

Opting to bat first, Faf du Plessis and Kohli opened the innings but the former got out for a duck. He then added a 99-run partnership alongside Rajat Patidar to set the platform for the Royal Challengers. The former India captain played the anchor’s knock while Rajat Patidar went after the bowlers.

Kohli played a patient knock as he showed some hint of form against the Titans. The 33-year-old talismanic run-scorer registered the half-century off 45 balls in the 13th over. He looked a lot relieved after reaching the landmark. Soon after Virat Kohli reach the landmark, Mohammed Shami came forward to congratulate the former.

Bangalore eventually managed 170 runs, riding on to the late blitz from Glenn Maxwell and Mahipal Lomror. The southpaw, who was playing his first game, struck an unbeaten 16 off eight balls to end the innings on a high.

Gujarat Titans continue their winning streak in IPL 2022

Gujarat were under serious pressure today as well with Hardik walking back for a cheap score despite Wriddhiman Saha giving another good start. But David Miller and Rahul Tewatia with their calm heads on ensured they didn’t panic or let Royal Challengers Bangalore back in.

Bangalore did have the bowling to fight with 170 as the slower balls and the turners were gripping the pitch. But Miller and Tewatia once again put on a show to chase down another big total in the last over with three balls to spare. Miller remained unbeaten on 39 while Tewatia smacked 43 off just 25 balls to see the team through.
