Jasprit Bumrah broke through for India early on day five of the Centurion Test to give India a huge advantage by dismissing opposition skipper Dean Elgar. Elgar was looking good on 77 off 156 deliveries. The hosts needed 211 at the srat of the day’s play woth India looking for six wickets.

Dean Elgar started watchfully along with Tem Bavuma. Both scored runs when there was an opportunity as they looked settled for the first hour. However, Jasprit Bumrah struck as Kohli gave him the ball. B

Bowling from around the wicket, Bumrah squared up Elgar as the ball took the edge of his bat for Rishabh Pant to complete an easy catch. Elgar was the man India needed to pick up early and Bumrah did just that.

Shortly after, Mohammed Siraj broke through and dismissed Quinton De Kock. De Kock has scored freely against India in the past and he was surely a threat for the Indian team. South Africa thus lost wickets at 130, 161 and 164 on the first session of the fifth morning.

Bumrah’s double strike at the fag end of the day’s play handed India the advantage in the Test match. His wicket of Elgar has ensured that India did not give away the advantage looking for a winin the first Test.
