Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj struck on the very first ball of the innings, dismissing Chennai Super Kings opener Sanju Samson in Match 66 of IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Siraj delivered a full ball outside off stump that moved away after pitching.
Samson attempted a drive away from his body but only managed a thick outside edge, which was safely caught by Jos Buttler behind the wickets, resulting in a golden duck. You can watch the video here:

Ruturaj Gaikwad came in at No. 3 for Chennai Super Kings and began aggressively, but his stay was short as he became Mohammed Siraj’s second wicket after scoring 16 off seven balls in the third over. Siraj struck again in the same over by dismissing Urvil Patel for a two-ball duck, reducing CSK to 29/3 in 2.4 overs.
At the time of writing, CSK were 31/3 after three overs, needing another 199 runs to win, with Matthew Short batting on 12 and Kartik Sharma on 2 under mounting pressure early on.

After being asked to bat first, Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan provided a strong start, adding 62 runs during the powerplay. Gill completed his half-century in 23 balls, while Sudharsan reached his fifty in 35 deliveries. The duo put together a 125-run opening partnership off 74 balls before Gill was dismissed for 64 from 37 balls, including seven fours and three sixes.
Sudharsan then continued the attack alongside Jos Buttler, with the pair adding 82 runs in just 36 balls for the second wicket. Sudharsan scored 84 off 53 deliveries, hitting seven fours and four sixes, while Buttler stayed unbeaten on 57 from 27 balls with five fours and four sixes, helping GT post 229/4 in 20 overs.
