Tensions had already run high between the two teams during the previous Test at Lord’s. Indian captain Shubman Gill had accused Zak Crawley of deliberately wasting time on Day 3. On Day 4, Mohammed Siraj was fined 15 percent of his match fee and received one demerit point for an aggressive celebration after taking Ben Duckett’s wicket.
Following the incident, the 31-year-old may take a more measured approach to his on-field behavior.
