India pacer Mohammed Siraj had a funny reaction when Arshdeep Singh pulled off the ‘Siuuu’ celebration during India’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash with Namibia. The celebration, which Siraj occasionally does himself, came after Arshdeep dismissed Jan Frylinck in the match held on Thursday, February 12, at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
India, batting first, posted 209/9 with Ishan Kishan (61) and Hardik Pandya (52) hitting fifties. Arshdeep’s early strike set the tone, and India went on to win comfortably by 93 runs. On Friday, February 13, the BCCI shared a video showing Arshdeep jokingly asking if he had overstepped with the celebration, to which Siraj responded with a humorous reply.
“Zyada jump le liya.” [You jumped too high]
However, Siraj also added:
“10 out of 10. But I’m shocked that Arshdeep celebrated like that.”
Later in the video, Arshdeep admitted that he jumped a little too high in excitement. The 27-year-old said he had planned the celebration earlier, but after giving away a few runs, he forgot. When he took a wicket, he remembered and carried out the celebration. He said:
“Siraj bhai has done it so many times that he now knows exactly how to do it and how much to jump. It was my first time doing it, and I did it for Siraj bhai. In the excitement, I jumped a bit too much.”
”So I couldn’t maintain my balance and I almost stumbled. But I will learn from him and try to do it better next time. Otherwise, my usual one is fine. I just raise a finger and walk away. It takes less effort.”
“I had already planned to do the celebration, but when I started getting hit for runs, I slightly forgot about it. Then when I took my first wicket, it suddenly came back to me that I had to celebrate, so it came out quite late,” he added.
