Former India captain MS Dhoni responded wittily when reminded of his approaching birthday during Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s sangeet ceremony at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai on Friday, July 5. Dhoni humorously asked the person to bring him a gift for the occasion.

The cricket star, who turns 43 on Sunday, July 7, is known for his excellent achievements in Indian cricket. Originally from Jharkhand, Dhoni secures the precise distinction of leading India to victories in all 3 ICC white-ball championships.

He led the team to triumph in the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa, the 2011 ODI World Cup in India, and the 2013 Champions Trophy in England.

During the sangeet ceremony in Mumbai, Dhoni was seen with many sports and entertainment celebrities. As photographers captured moments from the lavish event, one of them playfully interacted with the celebrated cricketer.

“Birthday aa raha hai sir parso [Sir, birthday is coming day after tomorrow].”

Dhoni, who was walking away after posing for photos with the media, turned back upon hearing the comment, smiled, and responded:

“Gift leke aana [Bring a gift].”

The renowned wicketkeeper-batsman attended the sangeet ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant accompanied by his wife Sakshi. They had also graced the earlier pre-wedding celebrations of the couple.
