[WATCH]- MS Dhoni Reacts As Wife Sakshi Dhoni Jumps In Celebration During IND vs ENG T20 World Cup 2026 Semifinal

Legendary captain MS Dhoni hilariously asked his wife Sakshi Dhoni to calm down while celebrating during the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal between India national cricket team and England cricket team. The Men in Blue won the thrilling match by seven runs at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

MS Dhoni was in the stadium with Sakshi, watching the match live. At one point during the game, Sakshi became very excited and started celebrating energetically. She jumped up from her seat and cheered with her hands raised in the air.

Seeing her reaction, Dhoni, who was clapping at the time, playfully gestured towards her and asked her to calm down. He signaled her to take her seat again and could be seen telling her to sit down.

The duo were in Mumbai earlier in the day to attend the wedding of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar. Since they were already in the city, they later went to Wankhede Stadium to support the India national cricket team in the important semifinal clash.

After the thrilling win, India will now take on New Zealand national cricket team in the final on Sunday, March 8, in Ahmedabad.

MS Dhoni Guided India To Their Maiden T20 World Cup Triumph

Although Rohit Sharma led the India national cricket team to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 title and they are the current defending champions, it was MS Dhoni who guided the team to their first-ever victory in the tournament.

That historic win came in the inaugural edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2007, when India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan national cricket team in a thrilling final under Dhoni’s leadership. India scored a competitive 157/5 and then bowled Pakistan out for 152 to seal a narrow five-run victory.

As India look to defend their 2024 crown, current captain Suryakumar Yadav has the chance not only to retain the trophy but also to join Dhoni and Rohit as just the third Indian skipper to win the T20 World Cup.

Interestingly, no team has ever won the T20 World Cup in consecutive editions, something India will be aiming to achieve as they look to make history.
