[WATCH]- MS Dhoni Returns To Ranchi After CSK’s IPL 2024 Campaign Concludes With A Loss To RCB

MS Dhoni returned home to Ranchi on Sunday, May 19, after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL 2024 campaign ended with a defeat to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The Faf du Plessis-led team beat CSK by 27 runs in a crucial knock-out match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, securing their place in the playoffs and eliminating CSK.

MS Dhoni was at the centre of the action in the final moments of the match. CSK needed 17 runs in the last over to qualify for the playoffs. Dhoni smashed the first ball of the over, bowled by Yash Dayal, for a massive 110-meter six, sending it out of the stadium.

Attempting another six on the next ball, Dhoni failed to connect well and was caught in the deep. Dayal then conceded only one run in the following four balls, securing a memorable win for RCB.

Following the conclusion of CSK’s participation in IPL 2024, MS Dhoni promptly journeyed back to his hometown of Ranchi. A user on social media shared a video providing a glimpse of Dhoni in Ranchi.

“I don’t think we have seen the last of MS”- Robin Uthappa comments on MS Dhoni

Ex-India and CSK batsman Robin Uthappa recently expressed his belief that MS Dhoni’s career won’t culminate with IPL 2024.

Uthappa anticipated that the iconic cricketer would bounce back strongly in the next season following CSK’s disappointing exit in the league stage this year. During an interview on Jio Cinema, Uthappa stated:

“I don’t think we have seen the last of MS. He is not someone who takes these things lightly. He will come back roaring for sure. Even with the narrative, I have seen him bat only in the last 4 or 5 overs, there is a reason for it.”

He added: “He had a calf injury which they initially thought perhaps was a niggle, but it was a little more grave than that. Because of that, he had to manage himself and often as he does, in international cricket and for CSK, he figured out a way to be useful and contribute to CSK.”
