“They Might Be Missing Some Firepower” – Aakash Chopra on CSK squad ahead of IPL 2025

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra recently analyzed the CSK squad ahead of IPL 2025. Highlighting their potential weaknesses, he suggested that the Super Kings might be slightly lacking in batting firepower. Sharing his thoughts in a video on his YouTube channel ‘Aakash Chopra,’ he stated:

“They might be slightly short on firepower, as they have a proven finisher in Shivam Dube and, of course, MS Dhoni, but Dhoni usually bats only after the 17th over.”

”In T20 cricket, the kind of explosive power teams look for hasn’t been evident in Ravindra Jadeja. Rahul Tripathi might get a spot, and Devon Conway will likely open, but both are more accumulators than big-hitting power strikers.”

Highlighting the positives, Chopra added:

“The biggest strength of this team lies in its all-rounders, as they have plenty of them. CSK focuses on players who can contribute in multiple roles, making their all-round abilities exceptional.”

“Experience is another key factor—they always build a squad rich in seasoned players. Whether it’s Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, or MS Dhoni, every individual brings a high level of quality and expertise to the team.”
