Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni finally showed some glimpses of his glorious past against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. During his 21-run knock, Dhoni smacked a 102 metre six which brought back a lot of memories to the cricket lovers.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings produced a much-better effort with the bat. They played a gamble sending all-rounder Sam Curran at the top along with Faf du Plessis which paid dividends. Although du Plessis got back early, the English all-rounder provided the much-needed impetus.

His 31-run knock included three boundaries and two sixes before Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu steadied the ship. They added 81 runs for the third wicket to set the platform for the middle-order batters. Although they struggled to get boundaries at regular intervals, the ones and two kept coming keeping the scoreboard ticking.

The departure of Ambati Rayudu saw MS Dhoni come out in the middle. The Chennai Super Kings skipper has been struggling so far in IPL 2020 and sluggish nature of batting has copped a lot of criticisms. However, Dhoni looked a lot better today playing some of his trademark shots including a big heave over the long-on fielder.

The incident took place in the 19th over when T Natarajan erred by going a tad straighter. He missed the yorker too which meant it was in the slot for MS Dhoni who smokes this over long-on. It went the distance as Chennai Super Kings crossed the 150-run mark.

Meanwhile, this hit brought a lot of joy to cricket lovers who have seen MS Dhoni launches sixes over the long-on and long-off fielders with ease.

A little cameo from MS Dhoni backed Ravindra Jadeja’s three boundaries and one six helped Chennai Super Kings post 167 runs on the board. It will require a good effort from the bowlers to defend the total and storm back to winning ways.
