CSK Bounce Back Under Dhoni’s Leadership with Win Over LSG
MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally broke their five-match losing streak in the ongoing IPL season with a win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium on Monday, April 14. Dhoni, after winning the toss, opted to field first. LSG managed to post 166/7 in their 20 overs, with Rishabh Pant scoring 64 and Mitchell Marsh contributing 30 runs.
In response, CSK started strong as debutant Shaik Rasheed and Rachin Ravindra stitched together a quick 52-run stand in just 4.5 overs. Despite losing a few wickets mid-chase, Shivam Dube and Dhoni steadied the innings, guiding the team to victory.
Dube stayed not out with 43 off 37 deliveries, while Dhoni provided the finishing touch with a rapid 26* off 11 balls. This marked CSK’s second win of the season after their opening triumph against Mumbai Indians, having suffered five straight losses in between.
However, despite the much-needed win, CSK still sit at the bottom of the points table. Their next match is a rematch against Mumbai Indians on April 20 at the Wankhede Stadium.
