[WATCH]- Mustafizur Rahman’s Stunning Catch Dismisses Surykumar Yadav For A Duck

Mustafizur Rahman‘s outstanding catch at the boundary removes Suryakumar Yadav for a silver duck in the IPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (April 14).

Despite Yadav’s impressive 17-ball fifty in his previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), he couldn’t leave a mark as a substitute player.

The event occurred in the eighth over of Mumbai Indians’ run chase. Matheesha Pathirana delivered a short-pitched delivery, prompting Suryakumar to attempt an uppercut over the third man fielder.

However, Rahman demonstrated cleverness by managing to catch the ball despite being carried inside the boundary by momentum. He threw the ball in the air and maintained focus until the last moment to complete a standard T20 catch.

With this wicket, Pathirana brought Chennai Super Kings back into contention. The speedster also removed Ishan Kishan in the same over, giving the Super Kings their first breakthrough.

The 21-year-old was absent from the last two matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders due to an injury. Pathirana’s presence is vital for CSK as they aim to defend a target of over 200 against MI. MI successfully chased down 197 runs in the 16th over during their previous game at the same venue.

MS Dhoni’s three consecutive sixes lead CSK to 206 against MI in IPL 2024

Former CSK captain MS Dhoni’s quick cameo boosted his team’s total to 206/4 against MI in the IPL on Sunday. Dhoni, renowned for his batting prowess, scored 20 runs off just four balls, including three consecutive sixes against MI captain Hardik Pandya in the 20th over.

Earlier in the innings, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube contributed significantly with scores of 69 (off 40 balls) and 66* (off 38 balls) respectively. Their partnership of 90 runs for the third wicket bolstered CSK’s innings.

MI’s Pandya emerged as the top wicket-taker for his team, claiming two wickets, while Gerald Coetzee and Shreyas Gopal took one wicket each. As of now, MI stands at 108/2 after 11 overs, with Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma batting.
