The modern-day cricket has witnessed some of the outrageous fielding in the boundary ropes. However, Nicholas Pooran brought out the best of the best to save four runs during Kings XI Punjab’s game against Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah.

Chasing a massive start, Rajasthan got off to a rollicking start. Although they lost Jos Buttler early, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson rallied well to keep their side on course during the chase. They were well par with the required run-rate hitting the sixes and occasional boundaries.

The pair had dispatched Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell out of the park and also took on the spinners. Smith and Sanju looked that they picked up exactly from where they left in the last game. Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran pulled out a stunning effort in the deep to save a six off Sanju Samson.

That’s a stunning effort in the deep. A half-tracker from Murugan Ashwin and an in-form Sanju Samson rocked back to pull. Nicholas Pooran, who was at the deep mid-wicket, leaps full length over the rope to collect the ball. And, a millisecond before falling onto the ground, he flicks the ball back into play to save four runs for Kings XI Punjab.

Outrageous stuff from the Caribbean fielder. “That’s the best I have seen,” said Kevin Pietersen on air.

Meanwhile, the brilliant charged up the entire side as they broke the partnership removing the dangerous man Steve Smith. Rajasthan played a gamble sending in Rahul Tewatia ahead of Robin Uthappa due to the presence of two leg-spinners in the Kings XI Punjab camp.

Punjab have set up a target of 224 runs banking on a century from Mayank Agarwal and a half-century from skipper KL Rahul. Nicholas Pooran played a cameo at the end to take the team to 223 runs.
