The Group A match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium had reports of thousands of fans from both sides thronging the stadiums, only to end up being too short-lived for Pakistani fans, as their team folded their innings at just 241 runs by losing all ten wickets in 49.4 overs. Brilliant batting from Saud Shakeel: 62 runs; captain Mohammad Rizwan: 46 runs.

India’s bowling attack held Pakistan’s batting under control, with Kuldeep Yadav taking three wickets. In response, India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got off to a strong start. However, it was Virat Kohli who stole the show, scoring an unbeaten 100 runs from 111 balls.
