Rohit Sharma, starting Day 4 with an overnight score of 0, was dismissed for 10 runs by Pat Cummins early on in the third Border-Gavaskar Test at The Gabba. Cummins, who dismissed him for the second straight time in the series, celebrated with a short dance.
Following a disappointing Test at the Adelaide Oval, Rohit was under pressure to perform. In Brisbane, he came to bat during a crisis, with India at 44-4 in the first innings. He struggled to find his rhythm, with frequent rain interruptions stealing the limelight.
On Day 3, he failed to get off the mark after facing six deliveries before play was halted. Rohit appeared more confident on Day 4, hitting a couple of boundaries, including a confident shot against Cummins. However, his innings ended in the 24th over when Cummins outwitted him with a full delivery that moved away, catching him off guard as he anticipated a short ball.
Rohit’s feet remained rooted in the crease as he made a cautious attempt to push the ball to the off-side. He edged it cleanly, and Alex Carey comfortably took the catch behind the stumps. Cummins, energized after claiming the first wicket of the day, celebrated with a short-step jog, mimicking Mitchell Marsh’s signature celebration.

Team India clinging to survival in Brisbane following Rohit Sharma’s dismissal
The Men in Blue required a solid innings from Rohit Sharma to shift the momentum in their favor. However, another disappointing performance from The Hitman left the visitors at 74-5. Team India now faces a massive challenge to avoid the follow-on, still trailing by 351 runs behind Australia’s first-innings total.
To aim for a draw, the visitors must stave off the follow-on and hope rain reduces the number of overs in the final two days of the match.
