Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins, celebrating his 31st birthday today, is showcasing excellent leadership in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Cummins has taken 13 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 30.54 in the current edition.
Prior to joining SRH, Cummins featured in the IPL for the Kolkata Knight Riders and was a member of the squad that secured the championship in 2014. On his birthday, a video from June 2023 featuring Cummins discussing the IPL title victory in 2014 is gaining traction online.

Cummins says, “I was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders, we won in 2014. A couple of days after the final we went back to Kolkata, went to the stadium, just to do a kind of a walking fanfare. And the stadium was packed.”
“It was about 80-90 thousand people just waving back at the team and the streets were lined with a few hundred thousand people just to get a glimpse of the team. And it’s just a different world.”
“And then you know you back home and your missus doesn’t even look at you. It’s like hang on, I had half a million people two days ago (laughs),” Cummins added.
