[WATCH] PBKS Youngster Thanks Virat Kohli For Gifting Bat After IPL 2025 Clash With RCB

Punjab Kings (PBKS) youngster Musheer Khan showed his appreciation after receiving a bat from seasoned cricketer Virat Kohli following their IPL 2025 fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The match was held on Sunday, April 20, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

Batting first, PBKS managed 157/6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Prabhsimran Singh top-scoring with a brisk 33 off 17 balls. RCB’s Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma made an impact with the ball, each claiming two wickets. In response, RCB suffered an early setback with the dismissal of Phil Salt for just one run.

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal steadied RCB’s innings with a 103-run partnership, scoring 73* and 61 respectively, to secure a seven-wicket win over PBKS with seven balls to spare. Post-match, PBKS youngster Musheer Khan shared his appreciation on Instagram after receiving a bat from Kohli, captioning the moment:

“A million thanks for the bat and Virat bhaiya & a billion for the love.”

“This one’s for him” – Virat Kohli after winning Player of the Match vs PBKS

Virat Kohli earned the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 73 off 54 deliveries—an innings laced with seven boundaries and a six—against Punjab Kings on April 20, 2025. Despite his match-winning performance, Kohli graciously suggested during the post-match presentation that the accolade truly belonged to Devdutt Padikkal, who scored a crucial 61.

Speaking at the presentation, he said [as quoted by Cricbuzz]: “Very important game for us. 2 points can make a massive difference in terms of qualification. We have played some amazing cricket away from home. When you go from eight to ten (points), it makes a massive difference in the points table.”

“The mindset has to be to get 2 points in every game. I wanted to accelerate more. And I thought Dev made a difference today, this award should go to him, I don’t know why they have given it to me. I try to stay there, holding one end up and try to accelerate later. There always is a temptation to keep going in the same way,” he added.
