Prithvi Shaw has started practicing batting again as he heals from a knee injury. The dynamic batsman has been inactive since August last year when he got hurt during a match for Northamptonshire in an English one-day competition.
Shaw showcased good form, accumulating 429 runs in four innings before the unfortunate knee injury cut short his time with the team. Following some treatment, he underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
Prithvi Shaw has been absent from Mumbai’s initial two Ranji Trophy games and is eager to return soon. The 24-year-old posted a video on his Instagram story, offering a positive update to his fans about his comeback. The video shows him confidently facing deliveries in the nets, suggesting he might be back in action soon.

Delhi Capitals (DC) surprised some by retaining Prithvi Shaw for the upcoming IPL 2024, considering his challenges with scoring in the previous season, leading to his exclusion from the playing XI.
It remains intriguing to observe whether Prithvi can justify his management’s trust with strong batting displays in the upcoming season.
“Players who have played with him have gone ahead”- Anil Kumble on Prithvi Shaw
Anil Kumble, the ex-Indian captain, suggested that Prithvi Shaw should reflect on his game and strive to unlock his full potential. Kumble noted that peers like Shubman Gill have surpassed Shaw, establishing themselves in international cricket. Anil Kumble made these comments on Jio Cinema.
“This is something that he needs to understand. Players who have played with him have gone ahead. For example Shubman Gill, who is one of India’s best players, and a young player who is looking at a future with the team for a long time. And Shaw has missed out on that. So this is simply a make or break season for him.”
