Former Indian coach Rahul Dravid was greeted with a hero’s welcome upon arriving at the Rajasthan Royals (RR) High Performance Centre. This marked his first visit to the facility since taking on the role of head coach for the franchise. The High-Performance Centre, situated in Talegaon, Maharashtra, serves as the home for the Royals. It features 14 cricket wickets, indoor nets, a gym, and a swimming pool.

The facility hosts a week-long camp once a month for boys and girls aged seven and older, offering cricket coaching, mental strengthening sessions, and dietary guidance for aspiring players. The latest camp began on Sunday, September 22, and will continue until Saturday, September 28.

The Royals management organized a special welcome for Rahul Dravid at their training camp. Boys dressed in military uniforms held a parade to honor Dravid’s long-awaited arrival. During the event, one of the girls was seen applying tilak to Dravid’s forehead.

Rahul Dravid’s notable history with the Rajasthan Royals

Following his successful tenure as head coach of the Indian men’s team, Rahul Dravid will return to the Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2025 after a 10-year absence. He was with the Royals from 2011 to 2015, but he played only in the first three years. During his 46 matches for the franchise, the 51-year-old scored 1,276 runs at an average of 29.67, including seven half-centuries.

He captained the team during the 2012 and 2013 seasons and served as the team director and mentor in 2014 and 2015. Under his leadership, the franchise made it to the playoffs in 2013 and 2015.

Meanwhile, the Royals have shown improvement in recent seasons under Sanju Samson’s leadership. They reached the playoffs in two of the last three seasons and were runners-up in 2022. However, they have yet to secure a title, often struggling in crucial moments. The team hopes that Rahul Dravid’s return will help turn their fortunes around.
