Team India head coach Rahul Dravid was in complete disbelief after Sri Lanka escaped a narrow DRS call in the 1st T20I in Lucknow on Thursday. The hosts secured a convincing victory to go 1-0 up in the series.

The incident took place when spinner Yuzvendra Chahal trapped Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka LBW. On-field umpire Virender Sharma raised his finger only for the Islanders to review the decision.

However, replays showed that there was small edge on the bat before the ball hit the pads. Rahul Dravid was shocked at the batter surviving and his reaction immediately went viral on social media and was shared by cricket fans all around the world.

Moreover, skipper Rohit Sharma gave a subtle laugh on seeing the decision being overturned.

Defending 199 runs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer starred with the ball, picking up two wickets apiece. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with one wicket each.

Earlier in the day, Ishan Kishan (89) and Rohit Sharma (44) got the hosts off to a flying start. They added 111 runs in 11.5 overs to set the platform for the batters to follow. Shreyas Iyer capitalised on the start, smashing a quickfire 57 off 28 balls to guide India to 199 runs which in the end, proved too much for Sri Lanka.

With 1-0 up in the series, the second T20I of the series between India and Sri Lanka will be played on February 26 (Sunday) in Dharamsala.
