[WATCH]- Ravi Bishnoi Breaks Key Stand, Removes Glenn Phillips For 48 In IND Vs NZ 3rd T20I

Team India spinner Ravi Bishnoi made a remarkable comeback by dismissing dangerous Glenn Phillips during the ongoing third T20I against New Zealand in Guwahati on January 25. The 25-year-old had not featured for India since the home T20I series against New Zealand early last year.

Making an impressive return, Bishnoi bowled a tidy, economical spell and picked up two wickets. His second breakthrough came in his final over, when he had the well-set Phillips caught at deep midwicket for 48. You can watch the video here:

Ravi Bishnoi also claimed his first wicket by dismissing a well-set Mark Chapman for 32 off 23 balls, finishing with impressive figures of 2/18 in four overs. Once ranked No.1 in T20I bowling, Bishnoi had lost his spot in the team due to the rise of Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy.

However, an injury to Washington Sundar opened the door for his inclusion in the squad for the ongoing series against New Zealand.

Ravi Bishnoi Stars As India Hold New Zealand To Below-Par Score

Ravi Bishnoi was instrumental as India limited New Zealand to a below-par 153/9 in their 20 overs. Alongside him, pacer Jasprit Bumrah shone with remarkable figures of 3/17 in four overs, while fellow Mumbai Indians teammate Hardik Pandya contributed two wickets in his three overs, helping India dominate New Zealand throughout their innings.

Having comfortably won the first two T20Is, India is on track to seal the series with two matches remaining. This series also serves as the final preparation for both teams ahead of the crucial 2026 T20 World Cup. In reply, India lost Sanju Samson cheaply for a golden duck.

However, the aggressive pair of Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma have breathed life into the chase, adding 32 runs from just 11 balls. The hosts are 32/1 in two overs, needing only 122 more from 18 overs.
