Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer was present at DJ Chetas Shah’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Ahmedabad, where he was called up on stage for a special moment. The RCB star joined the DJ during the performances of Teri Mitti and Vande Mataram.
Interestingly, visuals from India’s 2025 Champions Trophy campaign were shown on the screens in the background during the segment.

Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer was in Ahmedabad for Madhya Pradesh’s Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 fixture against Tripura at the Narendra Modi Stadium (Ground B) on Wednesday, December 31. Leading the side, he guided Madhya Pradesh to a four-wicket victory, with opener Yash Dubey anchoring the chase with a fine 105 off 97 deliveries.
Although Venkatesh couldn’t make a significant impact with the bat and was dismissed for 16 off nine balls, he made up for it with an impressive bowling display, claiming four wickets. Madhya Pradesh remain unbeaten in the 50-over competition and currently sit atop Group A, having registered four consecutive wins and a healthy net run rate of 0.935.
Venkatesh Iyer Joins RCB After ₹7 Crore Deal At IPL 2026 Auction
Venkatesh Iyer will turn out for a different franchise in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League. He had earlier made headlines after being re-signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a massive ₹23.75 crore, but endured a below-par season, managing just 142 runs from seven innings at a strike rate of 139.31.
Following the campaign, the three-time champions released the 31-year-old ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. At the auction, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) initiated the bidding, with Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and KKR also entering the fray for the versatile cricketer.
RCB eventually outbid KKR to secure his services for ₹7 crore. The left-handed batter has accumulated 1,468 runs from 56 IPL innings, averaging 29.95 with a strike rate of 137.32.
