Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are facing each other at MCA stadium, Pune in the 61st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. This match is a must win game for both the teams for the race of playoffs.

An interesting incident in the match caught the attention of cricket fans. In the 12th over of the KKR innings, T Natrajan bowled a brilliant yorker to Rinku Singh. Rinku missed the ball completely and it struck his pad. The bowler made an appeal for LBW and the umpire didn’t hesitate in giving it LBW out.

Rinku walked up to Sam Billings to discuss whether to take DRS for LBW decision. Billings made a signal to ask for the DRS. Soon 15 seconds time for the DRS ended. The umpire told Rinku Singh to go back to the pavilion. However, the Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer raised his objection over it.

Rinku was involved in a heated argument with the umpire because he believed that Billings called for the review. However, Umpire told him to go back because the rule book states that only the captain or the batter who was given out can call for the DRS review , not the non-striker batsman. Since Rinku Singh didn’t make the signal himself, he can’t ask for the review.

It is good to finish strong – Andre Russell

After electing to bat first, KKR was struggling at 94/5 in 11.3 overs. But the big show Andre Russell played an amazing knock of 49 runs in 28 balls to help KKR post a total of 177 runs while batting first. Russell believes that it is a very good total on this pitch. Russell hit 3 huge sixes in the last over of Sundar.

Andre Russell in mid match interview said, “It is good to finish strong. They were bowling very well, the seamers were hitting the yorkers. I was a bit miserable, but I said let’s just stick with it since I know if I stay till the end we can get 170. We got a bit extra and that is a bonus. It (total) looks good based on how it’s (pitch) playing, but it’s not playing as good as it looks. 170 is definitely a good score.”
