Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is a great competitor on the field. He is famous for his fearless batting and attacking approach. However off the field, Rishabh is a very humble guy. He likes interacting with fans, clicking selfies with them and giving them autographs. Pant didn’t shy away from doing so during India’s four-day warm-up game against Leicestershire, which got underway on June 23 in Leicester.

Rishabh Pant impressed everyone with his heartwarming gesture during the practice match between India and Leicestershire XI at Uptonsteel Cricket Ground. Pant clicked pictures with kids on the ground and gave them autographs to them despite an announcement being made to not interact with fans.

The ground announcer made an announcement that “During the course of #LEIvIND, India’s players will not be signing autographs or taking selfies with any fans“.

However, Rishabh didn’t hesitate in interacting with fans. It brought a smile on the face of kids who wanted to meet and click pictures with Pant.

Rishabh Pant played a brilliant knock of 76 runs in the ongoing warm up match. Pant is representing Leicestershire XI in this match. He played brilliantly against the bowling attack of India. Pant hit 14 fours and one sixes in his innings. He was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja while trying to slog for a six.

Rohit Sharma tests positive for COVID -19

The Indian cricket team has faced a big setback after captain Rohit Sharma has been tested COVID positive in a RT – PCR test conducted on Saturday (June 25). Rohit didn’t come out to bat for India in their second innings. He would remain in isolation for five days. The participation of Rohit Sharma for the last Test remains in doubt.

BCCI in the tweet said, “#TeamIndia Captain Mr Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 following a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted on Saturday. He is currently in isolation at the team hotel and is under the care of the BCCI Medical Team.”

The rescheduled fifth Test between India and England will get underway on July 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The visiting side lead the series 2-1 before a COVID-19 outbreak forced the organisers to postpone the series. India have a beautiful chance to winning their first Test series on England soil since 2007.
