[WATCH]- Rishabh Pant Loses His Bat And Gets Stump Out In The DC vs LSG Match

During the IPL 2024 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 12, DC skipper Rishabh Pant lost his bat and was subsequently stumped out while chasing the target in the second innings.

Rishabh Pant’s impressive innings of 41 runs off 24 balls nearly led his team to victory as he aggressively pushed to finish the match swiftly. However, his attempt to hit leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi out of the park on the third ball of the 16th over resulted in his dismissal.

However, he failed to make contact with the ball and also lost grip of his bat. LSG wicketkeeper KL Rahul cleanly gathered the ball and completed the straightforward stumping.

LSG chose to bat first after winning the toss and managed to score a respectable total of 167/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Ayush Badoni remained unbeaten on 55 runs, while KL Rahul contributed 39 runs, leading the hosts’ batting effort.

DC’s top-order batsmen, including Jake Fraser-McGurk (55), Prithvi Shaw (32), and Rishabh Pant (41), made valuable contributions to set up the chase but couldn’t see it through to the end.

However, Tristan Stubbs (15*) and Shai Hope (11*) played brief but crucial innings to guide DC to victory in the end. During the post-match presentation, Rishabh Pant shared his thoughts on the victory, stating:

“I think it was a little relief as we wanted a win badly. We wanted to think like champions. Things don’t always go your way but you have to keep fighting hard. There have been phases where we haven’t been up to the mark as a bowling group and some individuals have to step up.”

Pant continued: “At the same time, something’s you can control and some things you can’t. I think mostly it’s close together but with some many injuries it’s difficult to get backup players but we won’t be making excuses. I think most probably, I haven’t thought about it. Taking one match at a time.”

Delhi Capitals (DC) will face Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2024 match scheduled for April 17 in Ahmedabad.
